"I want to sell sporting goods stuff", mused Ian Boyd one morning way back when, when
asked what sort of business he wanted to start. And from the seed of that great idea, a business was born. What has been more concrete than that simple notion is the growth and success of Boyd's Sports from 1985 to today. 

Independently owned and operated from day one, Boyd's has remained a fixture in local communities as it has changed locations and grown. Today, Boyd's consists of the main store in Uxbridge, Ontario. At the helm in Uxbridge is a team that, through the years has learned the same dedication to excellence in sporting goods retail that has stood Boyd's in good stead through 40+ years in business. 

If you were to ask Ian why Boyd's is such a success, it's likely his answer might vary. He might say it's the consistent commitment to value, service and quality that's been maintained from the start; or it's the staff's renowned technical abilities; or just the buzz they get doing what they love to do best. Of course he would never openly admit that the reputation his store enjoys is legendary. 

There's one thing for sure, though. Despite the growth, little about Boyd's has changed over the years. Including the fact that they still get a big kick out of the idea that they sell, you know..."stuff".
